HR Co-op is pleased to share the results of its 2025 Member Survey, which reflects strong satisfaction among co-op members. With 678 individual member responses, the survey provides key insights into how members perceive the co-op’s services and what matters most to them.

Overall satisfaction with HR Co-op is exceptional, with 94% of members stating they are “very satisfied.” Members also rated co-op employees highly, with 91% strongly agreeing that employees are helpful and courteous.

The survey allowed HR Co-op to understand which aspects of being part of a cooperative mattered most to members. An overwhelming 96% said that the co-op having electric rates 34% lower than the Oregon average is “very important.” Similarly, nearly 98% value responsive customer service, while 84% emphasized the importance of local control and representation.

Members also weighed in on key issues shaping the Co-op’s future.

  • When asked about wildfire prevention, two thirds of those surveyed were willing to pay up to $2 extra each month to help accelerate the process of moving overhead lines underground in areas at high risk for wildfire.
  • 11% plan to purchase an electric vehicle within five years, signaling growing interest in EV infrastructure.
  • 39% were aware of the co-op’s Member Investment Program, which allows members to invest funds locally and earn interest while supporting the co-op’s major projects.

Communication preferences remain diverse. Members prefer to receive information in Ruralite magazine, by visiting the HR Co-op website (44%), or by receiving information on bill inserts (47%). Notably, 39% reported reading Ruralite Magazine every month.

“We’re incredibly grateful to all our members who took the time to share their feedback through the 2025 survey,” said Libby Calnon, General Manager & CEO of HR Co-op. “It’s encouraging to see such high levels of satisfaction and support for the work we’re doing. Your input helps guide our priorities and ensures we continue delivering the reliable, affordable, and locally-focused services our members have relied upon for 80 years.”

The five members who won $100 bill credits in the survey participation drawing were Tyson Cipriano, Pat & Sue Hartford, Susan Bell, Arturo Fermin, and Izzy Rodriquez.
